It's been so long

Hello there! I'm sorry for this non-posting inconvenience. I've been very preocupied with school, books, movies, and my new and better blog, The Wacky Writer, (www.wackywriterbecca.blogspot.com)where I post all of my short stories about once a week.
[FYI- a new story has been posted: ISOLATED]

Anyways, I've recently become obsessed with old-fashioned romances. I saw nearly every Jane Austen movie, Great Expectations, Wuthering Heights, Jane Eyre, etc. And when I just happened to be browsing through the Romance section my favorite online library, www.goodreads.com , I saw a promising cover that immediately caught my interest. I clicked on the picture of the cover, read a synopsis, and requested it from my hometown library.
It took about 100 pages to really get into, but when I did, I honestly, simply, could NOT put it down.
It is MY type of book- full of forbidden romance and betrayals and rumors, followed by arranged marriages and people who fake their death to get out of them and be with the ones they love, etc. Surprisingly, there was no swearing.
It is now one of my top 3 favorite books. It is called "THE LUXE" by Anna Godbersen.

I was so intrigued by the cliff-hanger at the end that I stormed over to the libary 3 days later and grabbed the nearest copy of the sequal, "RUMORS", which I think was not quite as good as the first, but still very well written.

I finished that one in my science class today, and as soon as the bell rang I sprinted to my school library and checked out the third one, "ENVY".

Next, if I don't get tired of this whole dramatic crises between two lovers, Henry and Diana, that can never be together because of the scorns of society, I MIGHT read the 4th book, "SPLENDOR".

Now, there are some inappropriate parts in the two books that I have currently read, but no more than those inappropriate parts from Twilight and its sequals.
If you like historical fiction, and you like chick-flicks, this is one series that I love.

Wacky shoes!

WHY? WHY? WHY would anyone design much less wear these? A podiatrist's certificate for service is needed to accompany many of these. Please comment and tell which one is your favorite!

Squid Cake

Alright, I know this is totally plagerism but I thought it was so cool I just had to share. My aunt Heather made this cake and I stole the pictures off her blog.
Sorry Heather, but it's totally insane!

Movie Review: K-PAX (PG-13)

I watched this movie last night that has been sitting on the dusty top shelf in the movie cupboard. It's called "K-PAX". The summary reads:
Prot is a patient at a mental hospital who claims to be from a far away planet. His psychiatrist tries to help him, only to begin to doubt his own explanations.
And the cover isn't lying when they say, "It keeps you guessing right to the end!"
Because it really did.
I rate it 5/5 stars. There was never once a boring scene in this movie. It kept me inhanced, guessing, confused, frightened, sad, and sympathetic. It's also one of my dad's favorite movies.
